Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a private wildlife reserve located between the foothills of Mount Kenya and the Aberdares. It is one of East Africa’s most successful conservation models, combining wildlife protection, community development, and sustainable tourism. Ol Pejeta is especially known for its pioneering efforts in endangered species conservation, including being home to the last two remaining northern white rhinos in the world. Wildlife in Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Ol Pejeta boasts an impressive range of wildlife, including all members of the Big Five: lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, and rhinos—both black and white. It’s the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa and offers a rare opportunity to see the last northern white rhinos. Other residents include cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, zebras, and a variety of antelope species. The conservancy is also a haven for bird lovers, with over 300 recorded bird species.
